MIAD Faculty Sabbatical Proposals Digital Library

About The MIAD Faculty Sabbatical Digital Library

Scope and Content

The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD)

The MIAD Faculty Sabbatical Digital Library contains copies of accepted Faculty Sabbaticals Proposals, faculty award memos along with links to additional content of faculty websites as well as audio, video and images of faculty work. These sabbaticals are for reference by other sabbatical eligible MIAD faculty seeking to apply for a sabbatical and also available to the MIAD community. The sabbaticals currently in this DL are only a sampling of the MIAD Library's print collection.

The MIAD Library has maintained a print Faculty Sabbatical Collection for reference for many years. In 2013, the library began receiving the sabbaticals in electronic format. At that time, the sabbaticals were printed and bound and added to the collection. Circulation of the print Sabbatical Proposals is quite low and many faculty are unaware that we have these materials available for reference and checkout.  Unfortunately some sabbaticals were lost and the library was unable to obtain a replacement copy.  The digital offering of faculty sabbaticals will allow faculty greater acess to the materials and eliminate the loss of sabbaticals.

The Digital Project

While some sabbaticals already existed in digital format, others needed to be scanned, edited and optimized for web viewing. In addition to the sabbaticals, links to faculty information were added.  Additional faculty information includes: faculty websites, links to MIAD Faculty directory as well as audio and video content.

Permissions

All faculty included in this pilot project have given their consent for their materials to be used. Please note that the sabbatical documents are considered to be unpublished internal MIAD documents which are offered to other faculty for viewing.  While neither downloading nor printing is enabled, one can download PDF's to read or use the Page Flip View to read.  Please do not share with others outside the MIAD community without permission from the faculty author.  Websites, audio, video and images from the Internet are subject to copyright as any publicly published document or item.
