About this collection

The Panther Travel Collection is a digital collection presenting images, video, audio, and digitized ephemeral material related to the travels of UWM students across the globe and was created as a class assignment for the 682 Digital Libraries class taught by Professor Iris Xie.

Currently the continents of Asia, Europe, and North America and the countries of Austria, Belgium, China, England, France, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Northern Ireland, Mexico, Nepal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Scotland, Thailand, and Turkey are represented in visual, audio, or video formats. There is coverage of both natural and manmade resources. Religious, educational, and cultural facilities and activities are depicted from the ancient to the modern world. Scenes are both urban and rural, and some examples include buildings, parks, gardens, sculptures and archeological sites. In addition the collection features a select number of digital scans of ephemera and links to webpages related to these locations.
