About this collection

The Archives Wisconsin, 1910-1920, digital library collaborative consists of materials showcasing Wisconsin society from 1910 to 1920. This online collection provides users with instant access to photographs, postcards, newsletters, newspapers, letters, films, pamphlets, university records, oral histories, maps, and more. Many of the items in this collection were created during the time period itself. Items made after the 1920s include oral histories reflecting on the decade and modern images of public objects, such as buildings, memorials, historical markers, art, etc., produced during or about that time. In addition to World War I, materials in this digital library pertain to the topics of architecture, women’s suffrage, everyday life, temperance/Prohibition, Progressivism, immigration, education, and more. Many of the materials originate from the cities of digital library collaborative’s original founders, La Crosse and Green Bay.
